Description

It was a two day event at the Tramway Museum and some of the re-enactors stayed over in their tents and vans. It gave a real sense of authenticity to view this on the Monday morning. Maybe not as active as a real mobile kitchen would have been supplying a troop with a hot meal, but it does give a feel to it. I know it made me feel hungry, the smell of the sausage cooking was divine. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are.

Very neat set of images, gives a good sense of how it goes. A shame the signage was so prominently displayed in front of every setting though, although I think with some creative cropping on the top image you can get around that. : )

Three more shots nicely put together Jeff, I know that you spent some time talking to these two, telling us about how they got involved with re-enactments and that they travel up and down the country at many dates and venues. Not only in the UK but they said that they have been to Holland and Belgium with this Society.

Wonderful shots, all of them! I like being able to see different views. There's so much going on here - the simplicity of the setup is deceptive.

These are fabulous. The feel of the mobile kitchen is prominent. I like all that you got in each shot. Filling the space with interest. Personally, I like that fire pit. I'd love to cook on that! Wonderful shots. As for the signs, after reading them, I can see they were very much a part of this re-enactment. Splendid work!

Very nice collage, looks very authentic except for the fact that these boys look like they are out on a picnic, since there was not perhaps the sound of bombs going off in the distance to keep everyone on edge. Your color treatment is perfect.

A wonderful collage of the wartime Jeff. It brings back memories of my time in the service, even though it was a different war. But field kitchens are field kitchens no matter what war, Sig....

The time and patience and skill in both collecting such a great tour of the place and each one has been a real pleasure to view.
