Description

Well I was going to continue my highland series tonight but the fact is I haven't had time to go through all the photos properly yet as I've been home for the last couple of days. As ever I took a bunch of pictures while home and seeing how yesterday's post was only a few miles from the family home I may as well make this a mini-series as an 'interlude' to more Scotland pics. I've also got a philosophy test tomorrow so not much time to play about with photos right now but found time to edit one - this is a shot of my family home in Farnborough, technically in Warwickshire but with an Oxfordshire postal address. I think it dates from the 16th century. We used to own the whole house a number of years back but the main house (left) has been divided into two, one half of which we live in. What used to be the stables, garage, and run down cottage at the bottom of the driveway have all now been fully renovated and are separate properties in their own right, bringing the total to 5 homes on the property (though the cottage is essentially a holiday home, usually rented by the week). My bedroom is the highest window on the left facing wall, and I think you can just make out smoke coming out of the chimney second from the right as we'd lit a log fire while watching the marathon(!) Hope you like, thought I'd share a bit about where I come from having posted so many St Andrews pics so far =) 3 expsoure HDR by the way.

What a wonderful place, all of the homes. They have such a charming character about them and the history makes them even more beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

I'm sure you know what a lucky chap you are, Adam! It's great that your family can still live in this gorgeous property having made that compromise. I love your pic, I haven't a clue about HDR, (not even sure what it stands for!) but whatever it is it's worked!
