Description

The 3rd weekend of August, association âthe festival at the villageâ of which the goal is to promote cultural activities and festive in order to reinforce the links of user-friendliness between the inhabitants of the villages, organizes its 8th festival of the scarecrow. Since 2000, mid-July in mid-September, the streets of the villages of Piétrebais, Happeau, St. Lawrence Vault and Russet-red-Mirror is invaded strange hundreds of made creatures of straws and rags. Not, it is not to make flee the curious ones but to attract the greatest number well in order to make discover the rurality and the user-friendliness of these picturesque small villages! Each year, a topic is selected and the villagers are invited to make their own scarecrows and to expose them in front of on their premises. The idea quickly allured, of many villagers were caught with the play and the scarecrows are increasingly numerous year by year, thus inviting the visitors to discover the villages of the Scarecrows in the Walloon Brabant. This year the topic selected is âthe scarecrow through timeâ. During the weekend of the festival, which takes place this year the 18 and August 19, the public at the time of electing the most beautiful specimens, and of many activities are proposed around the Scarecrows: secondhand trade of the children, walks, great secondhand trade, exposures, an artisanal market, a market of the products of the soil, animations musica (Excuse me for my very bad English) LLa fête de l’épouvantail est devenu incontournable dans l’Est du Brabant wallon, elle a acquis au fil des années une renommée qui dépasse largement les frontières brabançonnes.
