My corporeal form lives with my wonderful wife and six eccentric cats in beautiful Sedgefield, but my dreaming body is frequently elsewhere, exploring the fractal universe and marveling at nature's chaos. I love traveling to places that exist only as mathematical constructs on my computer and bringing back snapshots that sometimes remind me of the real world (whatever that means), sometimes of metamagical worlds we can visit only in our imaginations. I trained as a biologist and run a small company specialising in science publishing - writing, editing, illustrating and typesetting. For 3D world building I use Vue, Daz Studio and Poser, but I've also used Bryce since version 2 and done some work with Terragen, Carrara and Groboto. For technical illustration I use mainly Illustrator and Photoshop.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of Renderosity, and to everyone who has kindly commented on my images or added my works as a favourite, thank you for that too. Craig.

Wonderful display of your talent and prowess with Vue. My favorite has to be the top one. That sandy area is extremely well done. lol...Bryce is addictive, too!

One landscape, three different worlds... :-) Fantastic!

Very nice landscape!

Very nice renders... they all have a certain mood and distinctive appeal... but that the hard part about using Vue. Landscapes like this have so many possibilities and alternatives it needs real focus sometimes to complete an image or leave one alone and move on. It is, as you say, very addictive. Very nice landscape construction here - it shows real talent.

Great idea, my friend. You have lots of patience, and a very hot PC, methinks.. ;o) Having achieved a good POV, it is good to try out a few different atmospheres, as long as it does not take too long. My new Vista machine is slower than my old one but its fan is considerably quieter, and less heat is spilled into my tiny bedroom. I suppose that I could leave it on overnight. All three renders are evocative. Having viewed the settings, breathed in the faintly exotic air, and listened to the insects and some distant ruminants, I really want to just get kitted up, fasten my hiking boots, and start to explore this area. At least there should not be any crocs... ;o) Regards from a very wet Glasgow, John.

Oh, so hard to decide when you are creating a scene. Each one looks different and each is as beautiful as the next.

Really nice work. I feel looking at the top one that its a bit confusing, the water looks like a huge river flowing through a valley but then when you look at the grass it looks like a very small trickle, After a while looking at all 3 it was giving me a headache working out is a small trickle of water going throu' a sand bank with grass reads or a hugh river flowing throu' a valley with gigantic grass reads. Or am I just been stupit. The lighting on the secind image is relly quite good. congrats.

well done sequence and excellent images! i did a similar thing in vue a sunrise to sunset to night time- then used Magix video deluxe 2.0 to make a short film by dissolving from one shot to the next.(there are many programs you can use for the film- Magix is easy to learn.)
