Thank you for visiting my Gallery and any comments or critiques are welcome.
Â
I started this adventure in March of 2008 with a desire to realize in images some of my writing that mainly focused on cause and affect of how changes to events in history, technology etc would affect the development of the world around us. 3D art has also increased my interest in mathematics - and how the physics of light and form have been modeled on the computer.
Tools: Bryce, DAZ 3D Studio, Hexagon, GIMP and UVMapperPro. I have been looking at options to create normal maps and to bake AO into the textures.
On Comments:
Thank you to all who have left comments on my images, favoured my images and myself as an artist and sent me friend invites. A special thank you for those that have left comments about what they do not like and what I may do to improve my images. As I am self taught these comments help me improve my work.
I do not have an insightful comment for every work of art I view that often a Hi I was here and appreciated what you have done is of distinct value.
Favorite Artist: Artist that I like the work that they do for a multitude of reasons. It does not mean I will comment on everything they release or even like everything they release. It does mean that I want to be able to look at every thing they release!
3D Art: What must the artist put into an image to claim it as their own instead of the reshuffling of the work of others? This question I find very relevant when considering some of the excellent work that is available as 'props'. These questions have driven me to learn how to work with textures and create/change models so that I can endeavour to put something of my own creation into the images IÂ publish.
Thanks again

Airships! COOOOOL!!! Okay, one engineering quibble-- the passenger/crew sections are too large for the overall structure. Take a look at real 1930 airships-- the airbag sections are humongous in relation to the gondolas and other solid sections. The middle dirigible above is probably closest to realistic proportions, but I suspect the gondola should be about 25% of the size shown here. That said, flip these 180 degrees and you have a nifty trio of submersibles or retro-40s spaceships.

DavidEMartin, Thanks for the engineering quibble - I been looking for technical drawings - What I have now are general cut through views but nothing very specific. Everything I have seen shows that the airbag takes up close to 40% of the center of the main structure - with the rear mostly being open/cargo and the front mostly open with some passanger levels - ie like the Zepps. I knew the Gondola contained most of the crew stations, quarters and bridge but not passanger areas too. More research : ) Thanks all for your comments.

I really like those bullet shaped designs - more like the british R-100/101 ships. Perhaps I´m going to do a more dynamic design with another series of airships. As I said, I liked the idea of your "on top" passenger-cabin or promenade deck on top of the vessel, like you did in one of your other zep-renders. I´m still thinking of a new kind of interiour, sth. like a "sky lounge", but am not completely done with the concept. Something like a Zep cruising over the centre of a city, landing on certain "Zep-stops" during the night, picking up the well to do barflies and cruising on. Like a flying "Nighthawks" painting" by Edward Hopper.
