Longgggg-standing interest in photography, first class in high school in the 60's, but was too expensive a hobby until my first digital camera about two years ago. Now I'm more prolific. :-D I am BRAND NEW to computers, so any advice on image enhancements probably should wait until I learn how to click, double-click, and drag...
I enjoy taking landscape shots and shots with a historical context, especially around Kittitas County, Washington.
The portraits in my icon and homepage image were taken last winter by the woman who is known here at Renderosity as PumaWalkingSoftly (aka Windchime Photography), thanks Laura!

It looks alot like the trees around where I live though that is caused by the power companies and dumb citizens either chopping them down altogether or mangling them so bad they die on their own. :(

Someone wants to take a chainsaw to whoever did this, have they not heard of aboriculturists, specialised tree surgeons. How would they like it to have their limbs hacked off. I would take a shot from the street so as not to indicate where it was taken from and send it to the local paper decrying the treatment of these trees. This is a serious environmental issue, there are enough trees being butchered throughout the world to supply mans need without doing this. If it was a case of them blocking the light through the windows, then this tree looks young enough for transplanting further away from the building. It should not have been planted so close in the first place. There is no excuse for this butchery. A very thought provoking image, that has hit a raw nerve with me.

it's not only private people who do this. nowadays gardening city property is done by chainsaw and shovel - it's cheap which is the only consideration.

There for a while any young tree in our area got this treatment. It wasn't long someone went and tacked on signs next the to trees that read, "Some idiot did this for fun." Or words to that effect. ;o) It stopped happening. I hope it doesn't happen again.

What a pitty..I would give it a trim back below the damaged parts, feed it some fertiliser and put some mulch around the base, just might give it the will to come back..Hugs..K
