"Drifting through the murk, Hazy form with golden glow, Beneath water, tree, sky." ~~~~~
From Wikipedia: "They are believed to have originated from Eastern Asia. Earliest records of Koi have been found in China and have been widely spread in Korea and Japan. The ornamental cultivation of carp flourished under the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Korean Silla Dynasty, and Japanese Edo Period. They are very closely related to goldfish and, in fact, the style of breeding and ornamentation has become very similar, probably through the efforts of Japanese breeders to emulate goldfish. The word "koi" comes from the Japanese, simply meaning "carp." It includes both the dull grey fish and the brightly colored varieties. A homophone of koi means "love, affection" and koi are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan." -----

Oh, how Coy. lol What a great image, Kort. I actually appreciate seeing the reflection of the branched in the water's surface. It gives it another dimension and makes it feel like we're hovering above this pond. :-)

Kort, That is hard to do and you did it well. Congrats!

Their lifespan can be 25 to 35 years. They are quite affectionate compared to their goldfish counterparts. Excellent capture!

I looked at this and all of a sudden I flipped it. I was under the water looking at the tree overhead and a giant flying fish. What fun!

I like to watch the koi swim about and sometimes they gulp the air from the surface. So many colors and sizes.

The very bright glow looks very pleasing as well as the "parched earth" effect of the reflection.
