Description
Shaded on a sunny day, I was fortunate that the foliage in the background was dark, hence the 'black' background for the shot. Maybe too much DOF, not enough focus on the top of the stamen.

Your self evaluation is right on - this is a beautiful composition, but just needs that little bit more depth of field to bring all of the foreground into sharp focus. Nonetheless, I love the colour harmonies in this image!
