Gorgeous image! I love the clarity with which you've captured the subtle shadows framing her features! Great sense of color as well, though it's subtle and understated! All in all, this is a fantastic image, elegantly composed and presented! Oh, and by the way, I love the lines behind her, painted onto the wall to imply radiance! Wonderful touch, beautifully caught just enough to show what it is!

I laughed so much when I saw this pic and the title, first because the figure is so Un-virginlike, and again when I read the words of the song( I don't know why!). It's a superb photo..are those ducklings or chicks that he/she has clasped to it's breast? Both your image and the sculpture are wonderful, the hooded eyes, the big strong arms..... could be any gender, but no virgin! Thankyou for sharing this, Michel, not just a great shot, but a bit of a giggle (for me anyway!)

e vois qu'à l'instar de Madonna tu as été touché par la grâce, tu vois que ton séjour à Rome n'a pas été totalement inutile. La lumière donnée par ce jaune est resplendissante comme Madonna.. Même en Flandre il y a des "Madonna" en puissance. Wees gegroet Madonna, vol van genade, de Heer is met u; gij zijt de gezegende onder de vrouwen, (réminiscences de mes cours de néerlandais en primaire) PS : Ton zoom 18-200 VR sur D80 donne un piqué extraordinaire, par contre la vitesse 1/800 et un Iso de 250 sont inappropriés pour un sujet aussi bien éclairé mais étonnamment la photo est réussie, comme quoi les exifs cela ne veut pas tout dire. Les miens ne veulent toujours pas apparaître, en dépis des soins intensifs leur prodigués. Tu peux aller voir sur ma gallerie ce que l'on peut faire avec un vieux Nikon 2 Mo pixels
