Description
do you remember flower power? i do. we lived in a small room, made our own furniture of planks and bricks or blocks that were used for decorative walls in gardens. the seat of the chair was made of a piece of tarpaulin. a lamp of circular pieces of chipboard, painted in bright colours with a big bulb in the middle. some small very cheap lamps and of course a turntable and radio.
life was simple then. you could smoke without being lectured, you could eat unhealthy food, sleep too little and drink too much. there was much more to it, of course, but that would mean this had to be posted under 'writers'.
made from scratch in sketchup, rendered in kerkythea - i have been fighting with the lighting and did not get it really right, but it has to do. maybe, one day, i will understand more of photorealistic rendering and post a masterpiece :-).

Excellent trip down memory lane, Koosie. I feel right at home in your room. And I love to see your painting hanging on the wall. It is one of my favorites of yours.

Fantastic composition, so many details. The light looks great and the colors are very beautiful. Excellent work!

Nice image. Almost hyper-realistic, the bright primary colours giving it a Pop Art feel. Lighting can be a nightmare but worth fighting with - I'd have put stronger shadows on this but maybe that's just my light/shade addiction.

I do remember flower power and you've created a very realistic image. Wonderful lighting and I like the soft shadows. Excellent modeling, tho I know nothing of Sketchup.

wonderful reconstruction of the times gone. it's always like this: the best time is when you are young,no matter how hard it may be, but you only realize it afterwards, long afterwards. thank you for making me think.

Wow I have just been whisked back in time to the mid sixties, and I have to admit it feels grrrrreat. A very retro image Koosie and I absolutely love it, been there with the breeze block and planks, I think I still have a few splinters to remind me.Lol. I still have some vynil but no turntable to play them on, I still have a pair of speakers like those though, they are out in the shed. Excellent work, I have to have it. Bravo!!!!!

i love this reminder, sure i was young, but old enough to remember all the great furniture, the smoke, the music, the countless unhealthy things. it is anyhow impossible to think of when looking at nowadays behaviour and rules. i will never forget this time and i still celebrate parts of it as far as possible, great one koosie!

That is so cool. I had a living area that looked just like this when I was in college! Wow, this is really neat. Brings back good memories. Thank you.
