Description

My Journey So I’m home After another journey A trip that took me So far away Sometimes I felt almost lost A trip that took me Places I’d never been To see people I’d never seen And some I’d not seen for A very long time Something I noticed In all these roads traveled Things are so familiar Everywhere you go And yet so very different Looking back at all these roads At all my adventures I rejoice that I made this trip Saw these people Saw these things For it all touches me To my very soul Thrills me Gives me chills And pleases me profoundly To know that this world Is full of such wonder Such sights So many people And I’ve barely begun So now I’m back In my little corner Of the world Unpacking both my bags And my mind Sifting through things Sorting them out But most of all I’m sifting and sorting All these things In my heart and in my soul For that is truly where They will always live And where I can go back And see and feel The wonder of it all 4/22/08

What a beautiful reflective poem. I could feel your emotions in your words. Your photo fits so well with the poem, Marilyn. I'm happy you had such a wonderful trip, with so many terrific memories.

It sounds very much like you enjoyed your trip across America, all the way to the 'other coast', to the 'other sea'. Also all the things along the way both going and coming back. I am sure your senses are still on overload, your mind on the boil, from all that you have seen and done. No matter how much you have enjoyed this freetime, it's always nice to come home. Wonderful prose as ever, and a beautiful scene to accompany it. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

I love the reflective nature of this written poem and it goes perfectly with the beautifully captured image that accompanies it! There's such a rich sense of emotion in this! Fantastic, rich work!

That's really nice, Marilyn, but imagine if you had to take the trip via covered wagon or stage coach, like in days of old. Now that would have been a long odyssey, both in time and distance.
