Description
This weekend is the Orthodox Easter.
This photo was taken in Cisnadie church, a village near Sibiu.
Cisnadie Church is a Romanic Basilica built around the first quarter of the 13-th century. Its plan is composed of the three naves, a choir followed by an apsis, lateral apsis and a western massive tower. In the 15-th and 16-th centuries, the church was fortified. The inventory of the church offers a procession cross from the 13-th century, the gravestones of the priest Johannes Hutter and his wife, a fragment of statuary group in polychrome wood, the old stone font (15-th century). The castel around the church has three precincts from the 15-th century.

Not to many people realize that the old world date and time was measured by the "Gregorian " calendar ! Which throws the time table off by two weeks. Beautiful unusual orthodox icon here , i have seen many a beautiful icon some in my family were buried in to the earth during world war two to evade Nazi looting .many a valuable icon have yet not been unearthed !
