Description

Hello ! For the variation, il show you something sad. All my life on our way to the country, we have passed this old Public House called Gundestrup Ferry Pub. (Free translation) One day there came new owners and short time after it burned down. It was such charming old place and they served so lovely fried EEL. SOOO Yummy. Now I dont think it will ever be a Public House again or anything else for that matter. That is indeed sad. I took this shot few weeks ago in the evening sun. Thanks for stopping by and for your so nice comments to yesterdays post. I do apreciate it very much. :))) Have a lovely day and a wonderful weekend. This morning started with very mild but cloudy weather. Now an hour later sun is shining so soft and lovely. Il be busy painting and framing, so il be back later at the day. Or maybe Ã? will drop in for a few secs during the day, when something of my painting have to dry up. :)))

A sad ending for this wonderful building. Your POV is fabulous, capturing the sunlight on the facade of the building. I suspect if one listened carefully, the sound of happier days might emanate from the remains.

a very sorry sight, helle, but if they want to it can be restored. the lighting in this one certainly adds to the drama.

I hope it is in someway restorable, such a wonderful place yet I can see how this shot makes you sad. Sometime ago I uploaded a similar story of an old Tudor building TONGE HALL in my home town, burnt out and I don't think it will ever be restored to its former glory, nobody willing to raise the money.

A sad shot indeed, but in excellent quality. It's a real pity to see this beautiful house in such a bad condition. A case of insurance fraud?

Such a shame that these old buildings with so much charm burn so quickly - but you caught its presence very well - excellent shot

I have seen worse damage than this and still the building was rebuilt. But it depends on the owner...what does it mean to them. Great shot with this evening light smiling on it.

helle, this is an absolutely gorgeous shot! I know I'm leaving my first comment to something you did a month ago, but god, this is gorgeous. I mean, yes, it's a building in its last throes, and I know how sad that is, I really do; I've been to many places that were torn down and they meant so much to me: But you've given its demise a beautiful song! It looks like late-day lighting which always has a melancholy feeling to it, saturated and bleached and golden. And your detail! I knew you could paint, but I'm discovering your photography now: You've captured such perfect detail for a decaying building. It's so very alive, the debris, the charred windows, etc. It's sad, yes, but you've given it a beautifully photographed eulogy. It's the psalm of a once beloved place, singing to anyone who sees it, before it disappears...a beautiful tribute. Bows.
