Did this one up for a contest. And since I had to write a story to go with it (as per the rules) here it is too: I walked closer to the cavern so dark And wondered what wandered inside Such a terrible feeling crept into my skin But to my common sense Id not abide I entered its mouth, so gloomy and decrepit as madness tried taking its toll A thousand men screaming inside my own head Clawing viciously into my soul Hot heat on my face, the smell of sulfur in air It grew stronger down this winding path Til I finally came upon a clearing Revealing this caverns ominous wrath A skull ridden gate stood, overshadowing all As I carefully walked onto a ledge Souls were swirling in the fires below As I glimpsed curiously over the edge It became quite obvious, that this place was Hell And I must retreat whence I had come But to my utter shock and ultimate horror My mistake could no longer be undone A dragon most fierce, stood before my way out Snarling with great reckless force Unadulterated terror crept into my heart And I felt the first pangs of remorse When suddenly, I heard a growl come from behind No running forward, nor back toward the door I could see nothing better for my reaction to be Than to cower right there on the floor Cerberus, the beast with three canine heads Dove past me; toward the dragon he creeped His fangs like daggers, sunk into its flesh To protect the souls Hades had reaped A roar most loud and horrible had come And the dragon whipped around with a bite Then the second head on Cerberus' body Bit the throat of the beast in this fight Half scared as I was, yet wanting to know Which titan would win this ancient war My eyes were afixed, I could not turn away Even though I could escape from the door Third head had reared, as the other two clenched But the dragon now decided to flee Battling one head was already way too much trouble Nevermind doing battle with three But there was still me left, what would Cerberus do? Would I soon meet the fate of the beast? I swallowed quite hard at the mere fatal thought Of becoming his next human feast He stood there for a minute, just glaring at me like a predator would stare down its prey But he walked on without harming hair on my head And so, I would not die on this day I left that cavern with a quickness thereafter Feeling lucky that Id been a winner I vowed henceforth never to go there again Lest I wish to become some creatures dinner Hope you guys have a happy!!!
