To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather
 Mina's daughter
Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

"I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly.
I make up my own mind about how good or bad or indifferent it is.
After that the critics can write what they please.
I have already settled it for myself so flattery
and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.

Oooh, utterly superb imagery! The whole pre-Christian religion parts of history fascinate me endlessly. What I particularly like about this image is...well...the whole image! The hair is what strikes me the most, aside from the beautiful sense of color and the fantastic range of symbols and perfect composition. It's the hair that I recognize in a deeply atavistic sense...In so many of the Old Faiths, the serpent was a symbol of wisdom as well as healing abilities and the serpentine, vaguely Medusa-like hair really strikes a cord with me! Ah...the Old Faiths, it's fantastic to see that they're still around and still generating great art!
