Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

What a great story! And I love your treasure.

When the sunlight shines through it I bet you have some wonderful colours on the floor's and walls. It's got to be the bargain of the year, and it looks fantastic. Trouble is a lot of folk have cottoned on to this recycle and everything over here is slowly going up and up and bargains are hard to find. Excellent capture of your new piece and a wonderful story, I especially like happy endings. Bravo!!!!!

What a great story to go along with this sun-catcher. You must come back East sometime again, and attend the world's largest flea market...it runs thru several states and lasts about 2 weeks time....yes, several states, so bring your walking shoes.

Beauty of a window, and boy did you get some bargains, even with the price of shipping it home. : )

Through a looking glass, brightly... Terrific capture of this stained glass piece, whatever it's supposed to represent. Three cherries? The red light district? Hope it's nothing manufactured in Haiti. And, standing in line at the post office like that on April 15, well, you have a lot more patience than I, young lady!

You doubted the postal service?? Oh, ye of little faith. I TOLD you to use UPS? LOLOL! :) Great shot - the light is gorgeous shining through!

I once sent 5 giant, uncleaned, dried gourds home from Phoenix. The gourds cost me $30 (what a deal) and the package place charged me $55 for packing them up and UPSing them home. But they arrived in one piece. In all my years of mailing things, I have only had 5 things lost in the mail and 3 that were broken. Pretty good average for 55 years of mailing. And its the best deal for the money. An amazing service, I'll tell you. :-) I love this glass piece. Good find, excellent shot.

Great Marilyn, My luck would have been to find the receipt and not the jacket :o)
