I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

We had spring last Thursday, summer was Saturday gone, and I think Autumn is just around the corner. I think the worlds weather has gone bonkers this year. We say Autumn as well Carin, here in the UK, I always thought fall was more logical because its the time of year that leaves fall from the trees. The English are not logical though, thats why it's one of the hardest languages to learn. They have that many words that sound the same but are spelled different and loads of words that are spelled the same but mean different. I wound the bandage round the wound. is just one example. I digress. I love your Autumn colours just as much as Canada's, but who's driving the car? Excellent capture, but there's nothing for me to recognise when I come to visit, I may get lost. Bravo!!!!!

Autumn: a glorious golden season ... and what a lovely place to live. Wish I was there! An Autumn poem for you CLINGING ON Clinging on despite the slow seep of poison in the tissues the Technicolor toxic flush Clinging on beyond the thickening silt in the pores the cloying in the veins The debt's repaid for the slow surge of sap to swell and burst the bud, unfold entire from rib to very edge. Ah, yes, repaid: for the year's full bounty stirs, re-forms, returns the self-same path to feed, to ventilate, to plump and grow. Clinging on while cell by cell the palisades are built Clinging on when windy stresses test the joint Clinging on for autumn leaves never fall: they're pushed. Hugs Mike xx

The colours are soooo familiar! Stunning shot. Our farm in the eastern cape has got the same beautiful autumn trees. Although cold, autumn has its own beauty... hey?

Fabulous shot! My fav time of the year is autumn:-) We have a small town in the mountains in Washington state that has a German Oktoberfest every year, the sights are some of the most beautiful at that time of year!

A great autumn shot from SA, always so confusing that the seasons are opposite to what we have in the Northern part of the world!! Excellent, I like it!!! Have a very nice evening, Henk

Wonderful everything in this shot of the lovely avenue with its entourage of bountiful foliage all in a row. Incidentally, at the moment, I'd gladly trade your fall/autumn for my Spring, with its triple digit fahrenheit heat in late April!

The differences in climate and seasons are sometimes hard to take in when you have never travelled to the southern hemisphere, we were only talking about this this evening because friends of ours are back from a 10 week stay in New Zealand and they were saying it was getting cooler down there now Autumn was arriving. I go on don't I?, your shot is very beautiful Carin.
