Description
World boxing champion Manny Pacquiao portrayed real life hero Lapu-Lapu during a re-enactment of the Battle of Mactan Sunday morning in Cebu, ABS-CBN Regional Network News reported.
Donning a bahag (g-string) and wielding a large sword, Pacquiao battled it out with an actor who portrayed Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan at the “Kadaugan sa Mactan” (Victory in Mactan) at the area’s shrine.
The crowd enjoyed the fight scene aside the special effects done in the re-enactment.
Pacquiao’s wife Jinky also had a part in the event. She’s played Lapu-Lapu’s wife “Bulakna.”
Among the VIP’s who attended the event was Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita.
The Kadaugan sa Mactan has become a tourist attraction since it started in the summer of the 80’s.
