Description

Safe Passage is very much based on that first glimpse of the Millennium Falcon in Docking Bay 94 in Episode IV. That scene has always stuck out in my mind and with Daniel Westergren's great YT1300 model (scifi3d.com) and a basic docking bay structure I whipped up, I guess this is my take on that scene. For those that are interested, the main docking bay structure is available in my free stuff as a fully textured Vue object... thanks for looking!

Very cool, I think you brought out the best from that scene here, great work on the docking bay too. That said, is it just me or is the falcon looking a little small on the Y-axis compared to the humans beside it?

Looks cool, but it's too dark on my machine.

Nice work, but a tad too dark here too. I think the Falcon was thicker in profile than we see here.

Sweet image! On a level it is true to the original Star Wars image, but on a completely different level this is all your own, and in many ways moody and atmospheric in ways that the original could not achieve. Fantastic image. Great work!

That's very cool Jacob, the lighting and atmo are superb and they add a great deal of drama and mystery. I particularly like the way the people are in shadow but highlighting the silohette, fine modelling as well and many thanx for your generosity.

All my youth... in far away galaxy. I saw it in 1979 in a theater in Paris, and I am still a big fan. Your scene is really great.

Great scene and tribute to Star Wars ! http://members.shaw.ca/david.p.z.888/star_wars/pics/millennium_falcon_ep4.jpg I have just done a Google search on this docking bay scene with the Millennium Falcon, because I've always believed there should be more refracted lighting from the ground to light up the underbelly, and after checking Google, it confirmed what I thought. It's a seems a pity that the finer details of this amazing Falcon are lost. I know that this crit is going against all those who have praised your lighting skills, unless you were trying to achieve something different and a more sombre mood ? ~Cheers~
