My name is Luis Conte, 42 year old, I live in Murcia (Spain)a very sportiv man all my life and now teach Physical Education in the university, I had studied Geography and History and Physical Education. After many years making pictures, but not really knowledge about that, I trying now to learn more seriously that. I love the nature, animals and the Macro world of pictures, very interesting POV. I learn many about the great pics i see in this web and also about the comments of others photographers put in my pics.

Great Shot Luis it can be hard to tell but was it hovering of flying around like a Bee it may well be a hoverfly but the way to tell is by the false vein in the wings or the Arista at the top of its head.. Leaf cutting bees are also large up to 17mm

Fantastic macro! I'm pretty sure that it's some kind of Robber fly (order Diptera, family Asilidae). They have a very distinctive look - and some of the species are very large (large enough to prey on dragonflies in fact!!). Although, which species this is I couldn't say - the family contains 7100 different species worldwide....

Leeco could most probably identify it Luis, I go with the Robber Fly theory too much hair and the eyes steer me away from the Hover Fly. Whatever the name is it is a first class macro of a little critter, you have got so much fine detail. An extra click for full size is a must. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
