Description


Calling at Aberdeen on what may have been a maiden voyage this freighter is registered in the Netherlands. It is called Sprinter and is helped with speed by a common design addition ..the bulbous bow.

I have been to the towing tank in U of M West Engineering where that design was first developed as well as to David Taylor Model Basin. It helps to understand whale noses and porpoises compared to sharks and fishes. Aircraft carriers now have very pointey ones. Look at the "George H Bush" at the Northrup Grumman Newport News site to verify.
