Description

The Cheetah is one of South Africa's special species of wild cats and is losing its race for survival. One of my favourite wild cats that I love to paint. Please go to the site and read the info given. We must help them. The world's fastest land animal, the cheetah, is a unique and the most specialized member of the cat family and can reach speeds of 70 mph. Unlike other cats, the cheetah has a leaner body, longer legs, and has been referred to as the greyhound of the cats. It is not an aggressive animal, using flight versus fight. With its weak jaws and small teeth, the price it paid for speed, it cannot fight larger predators to protect its kill or young. http://www.cheetah.org/?nd=home Portrait I made of this special "cat" and used the colours of the savanah areas here in SA. I'm a wild cat lover, too. This compilation image is excellent!! It should be made into a large wall poster for the preservation of the species!! I can visualize school children gazing at it all day, instead of studying! lol Hugz, Robin
