I normally try not to comment on politics a lot as I detest all politicians but I will say this. We in the U.S. need to stop selling our souls for cheap junk make by slave labor while our workers are running out of jobs. Until were ready to recognize that we hold the solution and not the idiots in washington nothing will change. Last I heard both parties thought nafta was the greatest thing ever and even planned on expanding it so that tells me no matter who wins were in for more of the same for a long time.

Wanna move to New Zealand.. we're screaming out for engineers.. but you'll have to suffer the good life of clean fresh air in the south pacific... oh and we still pay taxex here... but are not ruled by the same type of administration you guys have... so if you wanna go surfing and swimming and snow boarding and skiing in the same day, then come on over... we're not paying you anymore than $NZ150,000 a year... so there... you poor bugger!

this is why voting is so important!and as far as the immigrant issue goes, america was founded so the oppressed could have the same rights and priviledges as any other person, why should now be any different!these poeple come here with the determination to give their families a better life and they don't mind working hard for it.I worked for foster farms and never have I seen that determination never more put to the test than there! we can't ever kick enough people out of our country to make anyone live comfortable enough, there is always someone who shouts "NO FAIR!" no matter how easy they have it. I think we should focus on getting better educations and better labor laws and making the right people accountable, instead of picking on people who just like us just want the same thing we want......to live the AMERICAN DREAM!!! I am sorry you lost your job!!

Voting can fix nothing on the economy in the US, both Dems and Reps are sponsored by Big Businnes, people who claim not to be just able to manage their business but the whole society and who cry for the taxpayers assistance when they´ve burned his money (again). It´s similar here in Europe, though we have some radical parties left. I don´t know if capitalism can be "fixed" again today like it was done in the 50´s and 60´s. I don´t see the support for a new social contract from the capitalist side.

I share your pain and frustration, Connie. I, too, lost my 24 year engineering position a few years back. I just decided to "roll with the punches" and made lemonade out of the sour fruit that was handed to me at severance time...but luckily, I'm single now, with just Rocky, my 150 pound Rotty, who hunts down his own supper on occasion. lol I've been on hiatus ever since and loving every minute of it. If I still had family, especially little ones at home, I'd be screaming from the rooftops, too. Good luck, Connie and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you!! Hugz, Robin

Oh you don't want to add a little social capitalism to the mix, would you? Like is the case here in South Africa... Where you are for ever indebted by the very good things you have brought about to the people! If you want my advice, cling to your flag, f* the politicians and claim your administration back.
