Description

The year is now 2756 and this is the largest class of starship now built...the Colony Class. It is over three times the size of the type first used when going to Mars (see my previous post). It is similar to a city in size...carrying 700 crewman and 10,000 colonists. It is used to carry colonists to distant planets to begin habitation on these new worlds. The colonists are selected by a world lottery thereby ensuring a diverse and mixed civilization. Over the past 300 years, a wormhole has developed past the planet Jupiter and is the jumping point for travel to new galaxies and new worlds. The Colony Class spacecraft is about to enter the wormhole to be propelled light years into space. Enjoy and thanks for viewing and commenting. This one was not resized...for best view, open full-size. Starship constructed by myself utilizing Bryce primitives and tweaking texture mats. Wormhole constructed using an elongated sphere. This is a fantastic composition, Keith. The stars, planets and atmosphere are gorgeous and your modeling is excellent as always. Looks like a cover for a book and definitely a must zoom in for the full effect.

This image is superb on a variety of levels. First, you made every element of that ship, not an easy task in Bryc; the 'wormhole' seems nearly organic and illustrates perfectly the 'wormhole concept' all those novels I read years at at college when I should have been studying! Then there's the overall deep space atmosphere and last, but not least your text which adds an extra dimension.

Wonderful work, Keith. This is a great picture and you just keep going from strength to strength. The composition and mood are fabulous and the complexity of your ship boggles the minds of mere mortals... well done!

Fantastic colonisation theory, and it really makes sense to have a World lottery to choose the colonists, your future planning seems to be right on track. An awesome image you created, and well worth the time it took, top class. Excellent work!
