(Yeah, I was torn between the two titles ... I really liked the Motel 6 reference better, but it seemed a bit long...) :o)

I was taking a casual stroll along the south end of Wrightsville Beach when a sliver of the Moon came poppin' over the horizon. Luckily, my camera was close by ... as well as a tripod, bag, and a cold Diet Mountain Dew... ;']
~~ I was a bit surprised that my little Sony was able to pick up the halo around the moon (better viewed in full size) that can be seen when it's so close to the sun in our sky. ~~
This (along with my next post) was shot in 16:10 format because I have been wanting to get some fresh pics to fill up my widescreen monitors.
