Hi to All, Has your week end been fruitful ? Not yet, Not much time left. Thanks for your comments on my earlier posts. These ants have built these two nest on the underside of camellia leaves.

How fascinating. I never thought of them having a colony in trees. I see them marching up and down tree trunks but usually they are carrying back food to their underground city. Really outstanding shot!

they actually protect the tree from insects that would eat the leafs or bore into the bark.in turn the tree provides a home excellent capture and focus

Oh, that depends. Ants love the sugar that the greenfly produces, so therefor the ants protects greenfly. But you are right of other insects, I believe. The ladybug eats greenflys. So lets have more of them :) This is a really fabulous shot and very interesting. I didnt know, they have homes in trees either.
