Description
This was originally a small quick project. I was assigned to make a PowerPoint presentation in US History class about the American society after the first World War. I thought that it might be cool if a had a small intro to the 15min presentation, in which my teacher was the star. This is realatively what he looks like. He always wares pens on the collar of his shirt. The face is almost exact, however, I purposely made the body "cartoonish", to save time and also I though it might look cooler. This entire model took me a few days to model and texture, definately more then 24hours. I very proud of this, because it used almost 100% of my Max knowledge to create, and it's 100% made by me. The textures were created in Paint Shop Pro, and no digital photos were used for the materials. I used multisub object, to texture, and box modeling and a ton of point pulling to create this guy.
I hope you enjoy this piece, I intend to make a short movie for the PowerPoint, and I might use him in other movies I create. Please take a sec and tell me how I can improve upon this image.

what matters is that its 100% original work.Instead of using poser crap, you decided to make model from scratch. This is one funny looking dude, you could add some bulge in between his legs.Impressive.And you could add some flying paper airplanes In that intro of yours? heheheh =P

Excellent work. Good to see something 100% origional. Don't really have any crits cus its so cool. Good texturing and good modelling. Only 1 question I have is, what made u decide not to model actual fingers?
X-Titan
Time I what I was lacking when I made the hands, Chris. However, I can always delete them and model new ones with fingers and attach them to the current (arm). I'll have to do that later though seing as how the time I have this week is limited. Thanks you guys for commenting, I really appreciate it. I only wish more people would so that I can see my other mistakes. And that pen he has on the collar of his shirt, he always carries pens and pencils there, so that's where I put it(it adds to the character I guess).

This is the most comments I've ever had. Thanks a lot to all of you. I have taken all your comments into consideration, and I liked the idea about the paper airplane, so I used it in my 30sec intro for the projects. I just have to present it to the teacher, and hope he likes it. I haven't applied bones to the whole body yet(just the head and arms) because the legs are a bit tricky. However, I am reading a tutorial on 3dluvr.com about how to do it. It's a bit hard because it's designed for proffessionals. Thanks again for all your comments, and best of luck to you in all your ventures.

I can't gripe too much about this model, except for the fact that the shirt looks like a burlap sack and the shoes look like they were sewn together out of leather scraps. But hey, this is a history project, right? Maybe he's from the age of burlap or something. The hands look almost cool like that, almost like puppet hands, but I would rather see individually modeled fingers. Do his eyes blink at all during the animation? If not, then he seriously needs some eyelids.

He has eye lids, but I haven't made him blink during the animation. There was not time to go into that level of detail. However. I'm going to redo most of the things including the making of individual fingers, the redoing of textures, and the applying of bones. I'm reading up on how to do the bones more professionally as I stated previously. Thanks again for your comments guys. Take care

Holy Cow, I thought only professionals did this sort of stuff... (Or excuse me, you are professional!) I guess you aren't only good at high jump! You've gotta show me the animation some time, and also show me the programs you use to make it-- I'm gonna see your name in the credits of Pixar movies in no time... And oh yeah, we're jumping PRs saturday! this is great stuff, nice work.
