Description

My grandfather's brother owned a cannery. It never had a sign on it nor did it at first have a brand it sold under. It ran seasonably and processed apples and cherries. You couldn't see the features of the output. It was just cans in cartons. Later he sold his output to Duffy-Mott. You might recognize their apple juice. They brokered the product so maybe it became Comstock on the shelves. In his waning years. Gerber took over the Duffy-Mott plant in Webster and they put a sign of some sort on Frank's cannery. This image takes the story a little farther to where a refined inorganic non-food is being canned. Canning was invented long before Frank began doing it. It did give me some understanding of a process like chemistry, physics, or biology as a logical system. maybe that is how I now see Booleans and UV maps. Carrara and Poser are not nice about cylindrical labels and these kinds of cans don't use just front and back like wine bottles nor were they even metal totally after the early sixties. they were cardboard cylinders with aluminized interiors and steel caps. The epithet "tin can Annie" no longer was appropriate. They were dead beat when dragged behind wedding cars. You can see an open carton which would be the holder of the franchise empty of the product as well as filled cans and a filled carton. This in my family is a completed branded product ready to go out the door.

... for the refined ... well, that excludes me for a start. I'm more distilled over a long period, matured in a barrel - well you get the drift. Ignore my ramblings - it's Bank Holiday Monday here - great image. Mike

Staring at cans all day beats staring at the wall. That to say the least is my humble opinion !

Another unique concept on display here featuring graffiti painted on a highly unusual backdrop of maze-like characteristics. Superlative modeling of the gentleman peering down upon the cans and cartons.

Now that plastic jugs are used for so many products these cans are unfamiliar.
