Description
Both of these paintings were about a man I knew in Japan who really didn't care for his wife that much, much less than having a child with her. She was desperate to have children however and kept on having miscarriage after miscarriage. They divorced in the end but the paintings represent my feelings toward the couple.
This is the other painting I did about him.

He was a Beatles memorabilia dealer and used to con people into getting things for cheap. Made me sick, so when he gave me a photo I tore it up and put it in the painting. If you click on the green dots at the top you'll see the images of George Harrison and John Lennon. George is a little more difficult to see.

Powerful & evocative work. Definitely see the influence of Dali & Tanguy in your work & maybe a little bit of Matta as well. Visited your website (very impressive range of work) & your "Esoteric Automatism" essay. I'm sure you're aware that automatism was one of the foundations of surrealism & my own approach to creating art is very much in that spirit also. I don't really see how what you describe as esoteric automatism differs from surrealism...
