Description

The words "God is with us" were spoken at Nazi speeches and meetings, etched on soldier's belt buckles and knife handles, etc. A supreme act of self-serving propaganda.

I wasn't expecting political work here and you may be going on a limb with this type of imagery, but, I love everything about it. It's a favorite of mine.

"Gott mit uns"... In Germany, during the "black" nazi's times, a part of the clergy fighted against the totalitarism. Yes, but a lot of formerly and nowadays armies through the world includes ( a )god in their...strategy! In France, since the Middle Ages, the clergy used to bless the armies before fighting and butcheries! Why? Are the field officers not sure of their tactical science, so that they ask for God's help? And what about the nowadays terrorists?

Yes, Gods of whatever faith are much abused by those intent on mayhem. "Less faith and more peace," should be the motto. No God would argue with that, surely. But were they always considered of a friendly nature? It was often felt necessary to give sacrifice or to otherwise placate. Is fear the real God? Can Gods exist without believers?

Very powerful work, indeed,Ed. Its too bad our modern leaders still use religion to justify killing other people.
