Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Have you been staying some where near where I live Marilyn, cause you have just described out=r weather. Lol. No I must admit we don't have fog as much as we used to and they say that is because very few of us burn coal for heating any more. Excellent prose, and I can relate to that even though it is a while back. Wonderful image to go with it as well. Bravo!!!!!

I know exactly how you feel in this excellent poem. At long last the cold East winds from Europe have stopped blowing here and Spring has truly arrived. Since I can [at the moment] only blink with one eye I have high hopes I won't miss it! Mike

In contrast to your situation, Marilyn, pocket or blanket fog is a rarity around these parts, and I make it a point to rush out into the streets with my camera to capture the eerie ambiance of it all. Great subject matter, and it actually isn't that cold or even windy. Plus, the fog usually burns off my late morning. Anyway, fine prose in the heartfelt presentation of your climate. Good photo also.

Funny...I'm going in reverse here. I just read the repost and edit and NOW I am reading this one. Figures...it's just like me to go retrograde. At any rate, I like both versions of this...both hold the same easy-going conversational tone that works perfectly with what you write...it's a distinct part of your style, your voice and it works wonderfully! Your writing is so accessable and evocative in a great and direct way. I love that in writing...kinda like straight shooting from the hip.

I've been comparing these side-by-side, and can't decide which I like better. They both have a certain something, but different from each other. I like the last line "and then it got cold and foggy" in this one, but not so much in the other one. Heck - I don't even know which one to comment on! And I'm doing this while you're waiting for me on IM! I'm losing my mind - it's like talking to you three times at once!

Been like that here on the East Coast the past day. Temps only in the 50s and rainy. I love the photo capture.
