Description

Titanic opens up at 21 knots. V2 smoke and water test. This scene surprisingly did not take long to render. It's a work in progress.

That wake is stellar. Don't forget to use transparent trees with glass or water textured leaves to give extra droplet splash. The smoke is doing well. You could possibly have it show even farther back into the horizon getting fainter and more diffuse, drifting in the wind. Tis going to be a beautiful pic, as this work shows.

Once again, terrific model; the smoke's even better this time around, and the wake is very nicely executed. Great work!

MBoncher is right about the water droplets. I'm having a real hard time finding fault with this, but I have to say that although the smoke from the stacks is fantastic, if you want to be accurate from an engineering pov the smoke should not be so dense and be more grey/white in colour. This is because when the boilers were at full power they burnt coal very efficiently. On modern steam ships you can hardly see the smoke at all. Having said that, you did mention that the ship had opened up to 21 knots. If that is the case then the need to produce more steam would require the stoking of the boilers, which inherently means thicker, denser and darker smoke. I really love the sea state and the bow break and of course the wake is brilliantly done. A very fine piece indeed.

Nice. One other inaccuracy, I noticed, in reality, the last funnel was fake. It was not used to expell boiler smoke, but for ventilation. So smoke would appear only from the first 3 stacks. Also, your ship's wake coming from the stern would be more pronounced, since you portray the ship belching large amounts of smoke, a sign of pouring on the coal and gathering speed, thus increasing the wake.
