My serious artistic journey started rather late in life as I approached 60. My artistic premise is simple: There is an absolute, formless, non-physical Reality that manifests as the apparent physical world we experience.Â
I spent years drawing the figure from life, as I find the human form to be a quintessential expression in form of that underlying Reality. My goal is to communicate that expression just as powerfully through pure abstract form. Perhaps if I apply myself a few more lifetimes I'll achieve that...
I began working with UF in early 2008 and am excited about the possibilities for expression as feel that fractals can help bridge to the underlying Reality.
Thanks for reading.

Thank you very much Elizabeth, bakapo, Bunny, and Linda. Your kind words are very encouraging, it's nice to know that such simple beauty is appreciated. Several times a week I walk along a boardwalk into town and often admire the beauty that the waves leave in the mud and sand. Although this spiral doesn't mimic those patterns in form, I felt it expressed some of the same grace. Positioning it in the picture frame was somewhat challenging. The curve of the spiral is dynamic and the frame static. The form's angle, closeness to the edges, the negative spaces, etc. all had a significant impact upon the relationship. When I happened upon this version, the others looked awkward by comparison. Not that it couldn't be improved, hopefully my artistic sense will grow so I can see how. Thanks again, db
