Description

Here is Aged Oedipus, the wanderer. Once a King who unwittingly married his mother....who was filled with the tragic flaw of Hubris...false pride...the "original sin " born in every human soul. As the story of Oedipus goes, he cut out his eyes with his mother's broach and left his throne to wander for the rest of his mortality. Here he is aged, still occasionally weeping blood from his eyes. He is wandering thru some trees...seeking the Holy Mountain of Colonus...seeking redemption. Soon he will find Colonus...ascend the holy mountain, and blind, old, and exhausted of Life itself...he will be trapped on a cliff without any recourse but to finally surrender to a faith greater than himself...hath somehting will catch him and sustain him. He leaps into the darkness of his own blindness and his surrender necessary within his new faith...He is now no longer the tragic character every human is born to become thru Hubris...He is now the tragic hero and resurrected as a FireBird figure of mythology. Created in Bryce4 (NO Poser), fractals used as material presets in Bryce, edited and sculpted in Adobe Photoshop.
