Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held images. Here are 2 more tiny insects (1/8/ inch long 3-4mm) to go with the series I have been posting this week. They are tiny bugs with big names. The one on the left is a Longhorn Beetle - (Molorchus bimaculatus) and the one on the right is a Snout Weevil (Glyptobaris leconti). Even I have gotten a bit tired of tiny bugs for now, so tomorrow I will post an image of something new, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

Well, I just might post one of my bugs then. I couldn't compete with your stellar shots so I've been holding back. These two shots are a knock out. So time and yet so very detailed and focused. Awesome, Lee!

Now this really is spectacular photography, you have pushed this tiny camera to it's limits, they don't come much better than this when your paid by National Geographic. These two tiny bugs are beyond 'Awesome' and in some unknown class of their own. Pj has a great word for exceptional photo's and the word is stellar, but I think these are beyond there as well. If these were mine they would definitely be in an email to Nikon. Truly exceptional captures both. Bravo!!!!!

This is great camera work, especially for something hand held and not dependent on any kind of additional stabilizing support. You've captured great details here, and I love the downy, tawny hairs on the snout weevil. Great sense of sharpness all around, and fantastic light.
