Description

I have left the door open to change. Now, here, I would guess I am about 1/2 a day of work from a really nice looking design for this object. The spokes need to be a bit more triangular so it has a overall thin armed star look. Don't say starfish. That is probably what I was trying to avoid and got here. Then there is the matter of the center after the arms more nearly touch at their inner edges. What looks like behind them is actually only a web between them that slopes from the back to a nearly conical pentagon. I wasn't going for a military llok. It is just that there are five sockets to provide space for. Finally there is the matter of crossed flags on that scalloped dome in the middle. It has to be inset in a crisp way and is quite small. That might add a whole other hour or two. Meanwhile there is the matter of the overall scale of everything. Working on the computer provides few opportunities for a full size render. Is this one of them? At 72dpi it would be 1944 pixels by 1944. Awful close to my birthyear and definitely in the WW-II era. Newer guidelines say 150 dpi for display and only 200dpi for printing not 400 dpi. Where was I when the standards were revised? That's 4050 pixels square at least, full size, for this about 27 inch part. Printed it would be 5400 pixels. A lot of color space to fill with magic. I definitely don't have a printer that large in format so I would have to make up subsections and tape them together for appraisal. Industrial thinkers would mention Kinko's at this point. I'm not ready for that yet. This is the point to commit to the next step. No sense rushing off until this part is satisfied. To not do it now after preparing you yesterday would be to ignore the technological innovation of revision. This isn't what if. This is why not?

vectors of transition could be considered. making the central part of the arm of lesser area while keeping both the rimside and the hubside thicker... this would avoid the starsissy look while, at the same time, conforming to a structural algorithm concerning torque and angular momentum. or, hell, maybe just a texas star! ride 'em cowboy!

I did far too many assessments when teaching. Assessments seem to self-propagate and thus are the easy option for poor teachers and government education advisers. They're closer to obsessments. THe wheels on the other hand are solid and very real. Mike

Wow, what a spartan hub on this wheel! I hope the star-spokes can handle the rough and tumble of driving and bouncing into potholes. Anyway, a great POV and splendid rendering of the scene.

always marveled at your modeling skills, but has nothing to do with the cat messing with the neighbor's flowers.not unless the bothersome cat gets hit crossing the road with an errant wheel.the number of spokes may come into play
