Here’s a cartoon representation of the Psychologist Karen Horney’s theory that we have 3 types of reactions to others (toward, away, against). I find it interesting that this takes each reaction that initially seems to have 1 opposite reaction, and shows that there are actually (at least) 2 "opposite" reactions.
