Description
My first attempt at a still life shot, I tried a number of arrangements, camera settings and lighting methods and in the end got what I started out for. The reflections on the surface aren't perfect and I wish I'd put a bottle of wine in there too but there was already quite a bit going on with having to 'paint' the scene with light (I shot this in pitch blackness in my kitchen).
I also finished another version of this by using the watercolour filter in photoshop but decided I liked the crispness of detail on this one better. This all happened to be lying in my fridge as we just stocked up for a fortnight or so and I figured while it was there and the camera was set up to practice a bit more light painting why not have a shot at trying to make food look half-appealing (something I've not had any luck with up to this point, photographically that is!)

I think you did very well: these bright colored vegetables beg for light. The darker overall display has a certain mood which is pleasant.

Olive oil bottle is a bit lost in the background, so yeah a (white) wine bottle would look good (hopefully get some internal reflections coming on so it comes away from the black - or even put a small bulb/LED in the cavity at the bottom - hrm... might try that sometime). Might have swapped the green apple in with the one in front of the red for some more colour in there. But yeah - really nice job mate! :)
