Description

Location: Brookgreen Gardens "Len Ganeway" Derek Wernher (b. 1938) Bronze, 1980 When commissioned to create a sculpture that symbolized the readers of a county newspaper in rural Michigan, Derek Wernher decided that a farmer sitting on a park bench reading the paper would be a perfect choice. The title of the sculpture is the pen name of the newspaper's editor. Wernher cast the sculpture in a small foundry set up in his studio. Only one other casting exists. I'm guessing, from the look on his face, that this farmer may be reading about the latest crude oil prices... ;o)

Great capture the only thing I would have done different is set up the tripod and sit beside him but thats because I am just a ham bone haha. great shot
