Our modern lives can feel so utterly depersonalized and regimented. The human laborer no longer works so that he may enjoy a bit of leisure time, he works so that he can pay for the things he bought when he had leisure time. I don't think there's anybody who hasn't experienced the feeling that we are merely gerbils trapped in the wheel. A fantastic, thought-provoking piece.
