Description
I felt in love with fractals. I know it´s a long way to start making decent images with this technique. Anyway, I wanted to begin exploring the possibilities to apply results, for instance, in clothing.
The last thing I worked with in this image was the model´s facial morphs; when finished she somehow reminded me of Greta Garbo, the movie star. I tried a couple of hairdos for her; they became so distracting that finally I decided to leave it this way.

this is such an amazing piece of art! the cloth is really so well done--love its flow ;) bravo!!! years ago, i lived in manhattan's eastside, a few blocks from GG's apartment, so i used to see her frequently--though i think i was one of a few who actually recognized her. one day i was in the local vitamin shop and who should i come face to face with but GG. we both stopped short looking at each other--i could tell by her expression that she knew that i recognized her and the message i got from her look was, don't say anything! she scooted out of the store like a frightened rabbit--poor thing...as far as her hair goes, she wore it in a blunt cut midway between her ear and shoulder and had bangs...still a real beauty even in her later year...

is that a flame fractal? i love those. at one point i played with Apophysis a lot, but never enough to really master the equations and parameters to make images like in the fractal gallery here. i think it would have been interesting if you used it as a transparency map as well as a diffuse one. i love the space and the lighting. you've really mastered creating spatially ambiguous scenes. and i think the lack of hair works well with the angles of her face.

Fractal for it´s own seems a boring subject for me. So I´m always impressed if some artists are abel to do something interest with fractal base. Your idea with to use it as fabric seems great; looks really very good together with your character!!

WOW! This is an amazing piece of work! It reminds me, in some ways, of a costume design by Eiko Ishigawa...it's got that over the top/a part of the environment look to it. This work stands on its own, however, and I love the concept, composition, and the implied stories behind this! Fantastic work!
