Description

I was surprised to see this sparrow just sitting there, as I walked down the gravel road out back at work. It didn't fly away when I took the lens cap off or when I raised the camera to my eye. She allowed me to have at her. :) Not the best of light, but I did what I could. Thanks for stopping by and for your time. Have a fabulous Day! Shari

Very nice Shari, these are one of my fave little birds, they are dying out here in the UK from some genetic disorder :(. we used to have large flocks of them in the city streets, now you will be lucky to see one!

The not so good light, as you said, made this wonderful in colors. Love all your recent bird shots!

Here in downtown, the sparrows are so thick and exposed to humans so much that sometimes I have to threaten to step on them to make them get out of my way when I walk. But let me take my camera out and they disappear before I can get the lens cap off! This is a lovely shot.

We have many sparrows near me, they are so busy at the moment looking after their young. This is a great shot Shari and of course she trusted you, she knows you love animals and birds :o) take care hugs Jane xx

We have several of these chipping sparrows here too, and yes they are quite fearless! I've gotten about 4 feet from some of them before they've flown. I like the warm tone of this photo! Pretty! :o)

Undoubtedly a precious capture! You are so lucky, I've been trying at this little yellow finch for days... all he does is hop around the dogwood! Argh... Wonderful capture!!! :)

I don't know, whenever I approach one of those hyper sparrows, it takes off like shot from a cannon. You must have the same relationship with birds as Snow White, who would walk through the forest singing and the little avians would come sit on her extended fingers. Anyway, another stellar capture of a demure birdie, superbly contrasted, along with the branches, against the blurred background, Sharilyn.

Wonderful bird photo! Reminds me of the old gospel song that goes something like: "His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches over me"
