Hello, My name is Leo Kraska, alias Tahrgat Darkstay. I have played Dungeons & Dragons ever since High School and I fell in love with fantasy through it. From there I found the best story ever created in Berserk. So in my art you will find a heavy fantasy influence. Besides doing 3d rendering I also love writing, directing, filming, editing and sometimes acting in films. If you are interested in that aspect of my creativity then I encourage you to check out my MySpace account at http://www.myspace.com/tahrgat . Thank you for viewing my art and profile.

Welcome to this wonderful community Tahrgat!! Very nice 'first' here!! Lighting on the armour is good and the owl is very nice!!! Maybe a bit more bump and displacement on the tree would have made the texture less 'flat'. Its easy to apply; Goto your "Surfaces" Tab and select the tree (or trunk) texture, then click on the "Advanced" tab. then scroll down till you see "Bump" (expand it by clicking on the little triange if nessecary) If you see 'None' under strength just click on that and select the image of the trunk, then set the % to 70 for starters.. Do the same with "Displacement". Can't tell you abolute percentages, you just have to fiddle with it.. Effect can only be seen when you actual render the scene.. Hope this is helpful :)

Fantastic first render! And I couldn't agree with you more on the JoA armour! You've done a wonderful job on this one. Beautiful work and I look forward to more! As to aid, I agree with Callad, another thing you may wish to try is change the lighting 'type' for the tree to something more like Matte, helps get rid of the defalt 'plastic' like gloss and gives a much more realistic texture look to the objects (I learned this one the hard way grin). But a fantastic fist image! Welcome to Rendro!
