Description
Once again while trying to create a nebula I came up with... not a nebula ;) This is an ice ring around a star. Executed a few radial lights, terrains, and cloud planes. Textures are Bryce standard modified in DTE and in properties. Color- and contrast-balanced in PS6. Added some noise too.

Cool job. I know how it goes starting to make one thing and it transforms into something else...such is Bryce! This would make fab wallpaper.

Love the color in this. Before I read your description, I though I was underwater, looking upwards toward the surface through a deep hole. I guess you made something suggestive of other things too :) Nice work.
DMFW
I thought the same as voodoo and it made me think of drowning under cold water. A striking and effective image and rather nightmarish...

I'm with voodoo & DMFW, looks very underwater, getting deeper and darker as you slowly descend. Very cool.

Cool light! :p

Thanks for the kind words :) Yeah, I actually used a water-based texture, and sometimes I think the same thing, underwater. But I guess since it started as a space image, that's how I decided to keep it.
