Description

Continuing my (probably blasphemous) habit of occasionally rendering my trueSpace models in Vue (apologies to any purists out there but I subscribe to the 'if it works, use it' philosophy)..... Here we see a flight of Gremlin Class AG Shuttles escorting a Viper Class Extra-planetary landing craft to a nearby Spaceport landing field. All the background city buildings are freebies from the net, some tweaked and retextured some used 'as is'. The two bridges and the two different vehicle types were made by me in trueSpace. The picture takes advantage of Vue 6's awesome 'Spectral Atmosphere' and GI lighting. This is not really meant as a 'serious' work - if it was I would not have used freebie models - I made it as a bit of light relief from my ongoing animation project (coming soon!). Hope ya'll enjoy it and please feel free to compliment, comment of critique it as you see fit. Thanks WZRD

I don't have Truespace or Vue6, and if it works for you, don't worry about what others think! You got a very cool sci-fi image here. I can't wait to see your animation project.

Other than a touch more work to the bridge on the right, too see that's it's actually touching land, and I'm being real nit-picky, I think it's great!!! Super job as always Wiz!!!

Incredible modeling on those vehicles! Love this iimage, the lighting is superbe and it has that crisp feeling of morning to it. I'm all for mixing them up - especially since you do it so well!

Nothing wrong in applying different tools to different aspects of your work. Like the 'classic SF' look of the ships, something Dan Dare might have flown.

I like the composition and the early morning feeling of the image. If this were a page in a book I feel like the author would have just given an excellent description of the feel and smell of cool morning air and having the mist condense on my face. Was that kind of corny? Sorry, what I'm trying to say is your work really pulls one into the story you are telling. Can't wait to see your animation project!

Myself-would have moved the clouds around abit to get rid of the ribbon look but the lighting is fantastic and the models go well together. (I've used models from cinema 4D and pre made stuff in carrara) Considering Vue's modeling depth i think it's perfectly okay. Nice job!
