Description

Trying some new techniques at creating waterfalls. I used a water plane and two elongated spheres, then applied JetStream from the clouds/atmospherics mats to get the effects. I also used JetStream from the atmospherics mats as an overlying feature upon the bottom water plane to give the disturbance where the falls meet the water's surface area. An exercize in using unconventional mats to get a desired result. The render time was approx. 4 1/2 hours, but took considerably longer as I was re-doing certain areas and lighting of the render about 3 different times. Enjoy and thanks for viewing and commenting. Unconventional or not it looks cool to me! Even the bottom water plane does give off that water meets water look. Excellent work and beautiful scene!

I think that's got to be one of your best. And I see first hand now what you told me about the water plane. Thanks!

Great work...I love the fact that unconventional methods of creation lead to really good pieces of artwork that are both challenging to make an interesting to look at. Fantastic work! Superb!

Wow Keith, your use of unconventional materials to gain the desired effect shows your artistic skills. Like dhanco I can almost hear the waterfall crashing into the lake below. Tony :-)
