Just found this...a cartoonist! It's amazingly prophetic considering what gas prices are now (mid-October), and I like the shot, I like the softness of the birds and the feel of the water; and whatever that cartoon figure is off to the side (not sure if it's a cat or bird or what), it's a great addition, and the only creature to actually say "quack"! I had a goldfish who read the New York Times and had a Ph.D., so anything's possible. (A true story. He also had his own phone. It'll be in my new book coming out in spring, a biography...) Delightful piece on a bad situation...and it ain't gettin' any better, unfortunately...
