Description
I don't really know what sort of flower this is, I was at a nursery and picked up some plants for out on the deck, then walked the place again with my camera.
I found these nestled under some trees and thought the shadow/sun made the shot very interesting.

It's a hydrangea ... my mother used to call them 'bigheads' because the heads are great bunches of florets. The colour can vary according to the acidity of the soil - a bit like a plant litmus test! This is such a lovely photograph - the title is a superb description in itself.
