I took this photo last year while on a road trip along the shores of Lake Superior. Perhaps most of you know the lake thanks to the popular 1976 song by singer/songwriter Gordon Lightfoot, "The story of the Edmund Fitzgerald". This photo was taken on a warm June evening with no evidence that the lake was capable of sinking such a gigantic ore carrier as the Edmund Fitzgerald - At one time the largest ship on the Great Lakes and holder of numerous tonnage records.
