He knew that the general population would never understand what it all meant to science. He had leased the old victorian, up on the hill, just outside of town. He believed that he would be left alone to do his work, since the people in town believed the old place to be haunted. So, he made sure not to do any work on the outside of the place. And few in town where even aware that there was someone in residence. What the doctor wasn't aware of, was that at times it would become fashionable, amongst the kids in town, to dare each other to spend the night in the cursed house. When Tony and his friends opened the deteriorated front door, the first thing they noticed was the smell. They had thought that the old place should, well, smell old. But that's not what had assulted their senses. Tony had flash backs to his visit to the zoo. His minds eye showed him the big cats, and the reptile house. It was time to explore. Dr Yanus, working late as usual in his lab didn't hear the boys in the unrestored part of the house. He did notice though, that his creatures where starting to act up. The doctor left the lab to have a look around. What was upsetting the animals? But this would prove to be his biggest mistake of all. As he went one way, the boys came to the lab from another direction. And as all boys will do when they come across pretty lights and buttons, they had to press, twist and switch everything. Tomorrow morning, Tony parents will wake up to find that the boys did not sleep in the tree house. The small local police station will be too busy with the unbelievalble calls coming in from all over town. It won't be until sometime the next day until the whole story is reported in the small town newspaper about the tragic happenings at the old victorian, up on the hill, just outside of town.
